parent & coach, sandridge rovers tigers & eagles

As a lifelong football fan, player, and proud supporter of Crystal Palace, the game has always meant more to me than just 90 minutes on a pitch. So when my wife took the opportunity to volunteer me as a coach at Sandridge Rovers with a fellow coach I jumped in head first.

My goal has always been simple: to give my children, and their teammates, the chance to experience competitive football in a way that’s better than my own journey. Through coaching, I try to live and share three core values: Respect for teammates, coaches, and opponents; Elevate, by always looking to improve; and most importantly, to have Fun every time we step onto the pitch.

It is never about winning at all costs, we try to ensure the boys we work with understand the fundamentals of the game.  We work hard off the pitch, work hard on the pitch, and therefore ensure we are always bettering ourselves.

We’re lucky to have a brilliant group of parents and volunteer coaches who share that vision with me. It’s about more than football, t’s about helping these boys grow into confident, resilient, and respectful young men. Watching them come together as a team, battle hard, and support one another, win, or lose makes every training session and every early weekend morning kick off so worth it.

The Sandridge badge means something to them now. And for me, there’s nothing better than seeing that passion come to life on and off the pitch.
